Application Process for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Germany (2025)

When applying to German universities, there are a few main methods:

📌 Apply Directly through Uni-Assist
📌 Apply via University Portals using a VPD from Uni-Assist
📌 Apply Directly on the University’s Own Portal

Application Methods

1. Online-Only Application

In this process, you upload your personal details and required documents (in PDF format) to Uni-Assist, choose your preferred course(s), complete the payment, and wait. Uni-Assist handles the rest automatically.
The same applies if you apply directly through a university’s portal.

2. Online + Offline Application

Here, besides uploading PDFs and completing the payment at Uni-Assist, you also have to notarize and send the requested physical documents to Uni-Assist’s office address in Germany.

3. Application via VPD (Vorprüfungsdokumentation)

  • Apply for a VPD through Uni-Assist for your selected course.
  • Uni-Assist evaluates your documents and uploads a VPD Evaluation Report to your Uni-Assist account within 6–7 weeks. You will also receive an email notification.
  • After receiving your VPD, you apply directly to your preferred university’s portal by uploading the VPD along with your other documents.
